Misinterpreted Hearts

The Lonely Conundrum

I’m lonely most of the time, and while I can’t say that I enjoy it, I feel that I am more in control of myself and my heart when I am not attached to anyone. I’m not at the mercy of someone else’s affections or lack thereof to make me feel good or break me into a million pieces. Maybe I put “too much” into a relationship, but I feel that’s the way it should be. You should be able to give all of yourself to someone without the concern that you’ll be taken advantage of. It would just be nice to be able to have that trust with someone; to be able to give without a fear of being destroyed, but I always give regardless in hopes that one day it will be different.
